I decided to start this blog to share my recipes. People are always telling me I should open a bakery or catering business, but the truth is…. I’m not THAT good! Besides, cooking is my hobby. It’s my form of stress relief. When I’m in the kitchen, I’m at ease. If cooking were something I HAD to do then I don’t think I would enjoy it as much. So instead I thought it would be fun to post my creations on here.
Since I was a little girl the kitchen has been my happy place. I love to cook, bake, pour, and most of all… devour! To me food is magical- not only because it tastes good and it’s fun to make but because I find that food has a way of bringing people together. There’s nothing better than a Sunday night with your entire family gathered around a leafed-in table… laughing with friends over cocktails… seeing the look on a kids face as they’re surrounded by a crowd singing them “happy birthday”…. breakfast in bed with your someone special… a cup of tea with a wiser-than-you relative… or throwin a treat to man’s best friend. Food brings us together.
Most of these recipes I’ve either written myself or adapted from a recipe I’ve seen elsewhere. That’s the beauty of cooking- you can be very versatile. In my mind a recipe is more of an idea rather than a set of instructions. I like to be creative with food and would encourage you to do the same. When you’re cooking feel free to switch things up, change recipes around or use substitutions. I do this 99% of the time and to be honest, I’ve never had Rachel Ray knocking on my door demanding an explanation :)
Also, I’ve never blogged before so bare with me! I’m starting with some things I’ve made over the past couple weeks and then I plan on adding as I go. I would absolutely love and appreciate your comments and/or feedback.
